Playing a tape

You can use TYPE I (normal) tape.

Press TAPE (or FUNCTION on
the remote repeatedly to select
"TAPE").

Load a tape.
Push PUSH Z OPEN/CLOSE to open
the deck.
Load a tape
into the deck
with the side
you want to
play back
facing
forward.
Push PUSH Z OPEN/CLOSE again to
close the deck.

Press NX (or N on the
remote).
The tape starts playing.
Other operations
To
Do this
Stop playback
Press x.
Pause playback Press NX (or X on the
remote). Press NX (or
X on the remote) again to
resume playback.
Fast forward or
Press m or M. To
rewind
return to normal playback,
press NX (or N on the
remote).
Remove a tape
Push PUSH
CLOSE when playback is
stopped.
Note
To erase content of the tape, do the recording in
tape function.
Using optional
components

Connect a TV or VCR to the
VIDEO (AUDIO IN) L/R jacks
using an audio analog cord (not
supplied).
Connect an portable audio
player to the AUDIO INPUT L/R
jacks using an audio analog
cord (not supplied).

Turn MASTER VOLUME
counterclockwise (or press
VOLUME – on the remote) to turn
down the volume.

To listen to TV or VCR, press
VIDEO (or FUNCTION on the
remote repeatedly to select
"VIDEO").
To listen to portable audio
player, press AUDIO (or
FUNCTION on the remote
repeatedly to select "AUDIO").

Start playing the connected
component.

Turn MASTER VOLUME
(or press VOLUME +/– on the
remote) to adjust the volume.
