Switching the audio input
mode for DVD playback
You can switch the audio input mode for DVD
playback.

Press DVD to select DVD input.

Press INPUT MODE repeatedly to
select the audio input mode.
The selected audio input mode appears in
the display.
Audio input modes
• AUTO IN
Gives priority to digital audio signals, and
specifies analog audio signals input to the
analog IN (L/R) jacks when no digital audio
signal is present.
• COAX IN
Specifies digital audio signals input to the
digital COAX IN jack.
• OPT IN
Specifies digital audio signals input to the
digital OPT IN jacks.
• ANALOG
Specifies the analog audio signals input to the
analog IN (L/R) jacks.

Selecting the digital audio
input decoding priority
You can specify the input mode for digital
signals input to the digital input jacks.

Press the button for the component
(DVD, TV/SAT, HDD/MD) that you want
to set.
Or rotate INPUT SELECTOR on the
receiver.

Press MAIN MENU repeatedly to select
the SET UP menu.

Press F/f repeatedly to select "DEC.

Digital audio input decoding
priority
The initial setting is "DEC. AUTO" for TV/
SAT, and "DEC. PCM" for DVD and HDD/
MD.
• DEC. AUTO
Automatically switches the input mode
between DTS, Dolby Digital and PCM.
• DEC. PCM
PCM signals are given priority (to prevent
interruption when playback starts). Even if
other signals are input, sound is still output.
When set to "AUTO" and output from the
digital audio jacks (for CD, etc.) is interrupted
after playback starts, set to "DEC. PCM".
Sound may not be output depending on the
selected source.
