Adjusting the Blade Arms

Adjust the blade arms if the machine still shakes
excessively after the blades have been adjusted.
1.
Place the machine on a flat surface.
2.
Disconnect the spark plug.
3.
Turn the tilt adjustment knob counter clockwise
until all of the tension is off of the tilt adjustment
cable and the blades are flat against the floor.
Blade arms should be unbent and flat to the
floor. If a blade is bent, continue this procedure
to adjust the blade arm. If blades are unbent
and flat to the floor, examine the machine for
other worn parts.
Note:
Do not screw the knob completely out
of the handle.

Loosen the bolts 3 to 4 turns

Loosen the locknut and tighten the outermost
bolt until the blade lays flat against the floor.
6.
Tighten the locknut and bolts.
7.
Repeat for other blades as necessary.
If the blade arm cannot be adjusted to lay flat, replace
the blade arm.
If the machine continues shaking excessively after
the blade arms have been adjusted, examine the
remainder of the machine for any other worn parts.

Storage

1.
Set the Dyna-Clutch lever to the Stop position,
shut off the engine, and disconnect the
spark-plug wire.
2.
Remove dirt and grime from the entire machine.
Important:
You can wash the machine with
mild detergent and water. Do not pressure
wash the machine. Avoid excessive use of
water, especially near the engine.

Service the air cleaner; refer to
Cleaner (page
Change the engine oil; refer to
Engine Oil (page

For storage over 30 days, prepare the machine
as follows:
A.
Add a petroleum based
stabilizer/conditioner to fuel in the
tank. Follow the mixing instructions from
stabilizer manufacturer. Do not use an
alcohol-based stabilizer (ethanol or
methanol).
Note:
A fuel stabilizer/conditioner is most
effective when mixed with fresh fuel and
used at all times.
B.
Run the engine until it stops from running
out of fuel.
C.
Choke the engine.
D.
Start and run the engine until it will not start
again.
E.
Dispose of fuel properly. Recycle as per
local codes.
Important:
stabilizer/conditioned fuel over 90 days.
5.
Check and tighten all bolts, nuts, and screws.
Repair or replace any part that is damaged.
6.
Paint all scratched or bare metal surfaces. Paint
is available from your Authorized Service Dealer.
7.
Store the machine in a clean, dry garage or
storage area.
8.
Cover the machine to protect it and keep it clean.
