Cause and remedies
ERROR SW 33 The subwoofer may be damaged.
Contact your Sony dealer or local
authorized Sony service facility.
When you select "WRN CHK"
If a warning on the measurement result is
present, detailed information is displayed.

Warning code Explanation
WARN 40
The Auto Calibration has
completed. However, the noise
level is high. You may be able to
perform the Auto Calibration
properly if you try it again, even
though the measurement cannot
be performed in all environments.
Try to perform the Auto
Calibration in a quiet
environment.
WARN 41
The sound input from the
WARN 42
optimizer microphone is out of
the acceptable range. The
distance between the optimizer
microphone and the speakers is
too closed. Set them away, and
then try to perform the Auto
Calibration.
WARN 43
The distance and position of a
subwoofer cannot be detected.
This may be caused by noise. Try
to perform the Auto Calibration
in a quiet environment.
NO WARN
There is no warning information.
When you select "DIST" or
"LEVEL"
You can check the speaker distance or speaker
level.
When you have finished
Disconnect the optimizer microphone from the
receiver.

Note
If you have changed the position of the speakers, it
is recommended that you perform Auto Calibration
again in order to enjoy the surround sound.
Clearing the measurement
result
You can delete the result of Auto Calibration.
If there is no saved data, you cannot delete the
result.

Press AMP MENU.

Press V/v repeatedly until
"A.CAL" appears, then press
or b.

Press V/v repeatedly to select
"A.CAL CLR", then press
b.

Press V/v repeatedly to select
"YES", then press
The saved result is deleted.
The settings for speaker distance and
speaker level return to their defaults.
