IR MODULE IR-CTRL
3.2 Programming the user program
Since the IR-CTRL assumes the major portion of the necessary formatting, encoding and time-out
monitoring, using the IR-CTRL to transmit and receive IR remote control signals is limited to only a few
small program routines.
You will find a number of sample programs and tools on the CD ROM which has been provided
with the device for the application of the IR-CTRL together with the C Control application board.
Sample programs:
· First copy the sample program "IR_CTRL_TX.bas" to your BASIC work directory. Do not forget to
copy the driver software IRDRIV.S19 also to your BASIC work directory.
· Connect the application board with the computer and the power supply. Switch on the power
supply.
· Write a user program to determine what the C-Control shall do while operating. You can copy
program parts for communication with the IR-CTRL from the sample to your user program.
· Compile the user program with the aid of the programming software.
· Test the operation of the user program with the aid of the simulator in the programming software.
Please note however that the simulator can correctly execute all program parts concerning the IR-
CTRL, but it cannot simulate a reaction from the IR-CTRL.
· Transfer the tested program to the C-Control using the programming software.
The C-Control is now programmed and the user program can be started.

3.3 Execution of user program

If the control computer and the IR-CTRL are properly connected with one another, then they can be
put into operation to execute the user program.
· Switch on the power supply.
· Press the Start button.
· The red LED on the IR-CTRL indicates transmission activity. The green LED signalizes the receipt of
an IR remote control signal.
The C-Control operates according to the program, until the power supply fails or the reset button is
pressed. To restart, press the start button. In case of IR-CTRL a manual reset is not necessary. This will
occur automatically after power supply returns.
