Setting the display illumination

The display illumination can be programmed in 3 brightness levels. The following settings can be
made in the "Backlight" menu:
"On level": Brightness of the display when the radio is switched on.
Choices: "High" / "Medium" / "Low"
"Dim level": Brightness adjustment for operation and standby.
Choices: "High" / "Medium" / "Low"
"Timeout": Time until the display is adjusted to the lighting level in the "Dim setting".
Choices: "On / 10 sec / 20 sec / 30 sec / 45 sec / 60 sec / 90 sec / 120 sec / 180 sec"
"On" means that the radio always stays in the brightness level of the "On Level"
For adjustment, please proceed as follows:
1. Turn on the radio and use the button
2. Press the <MENU>, button, select the „System" menu using <TUNE/AUTO/ENTER/uII> and then
press the knob.
3. Use <TUNE/AUTO/ENTER/uII> knob to select the "Backlight" menu and then confirm.
4. Select the functions in the individual "On Level" / "Dim Level" / "Timeout" menus and
confirm with the <TUNE/AUTO/ENTER/uII> knob.

Setting the sleep timer

The sleep timer is used to automatically turn off the radio after a preset period of time.
For adjustment, please proceed as follows:
1. Turn on the radio and confirm with the
2. Press the <MENU>, button, select the „System" menu using <TUNE/AUTO/ENTER/uII> and then
press the knob.
3. Select the "Sleep" menu with <TUNE/AUTO/ENTER/uII> and then confirm.
4. In the following menu please choose from the following options: "Sleep off"/"15, 30, 45, 60,
90 minutes".
Confirm with the <TUNE/AUTO/ENTER/uII> knob.
5. The display shows „Sxx" in the middle line on the right, where "xx" stands for the remaining time
until the radio is switched off. If you would like to deactivate the sleep timer, please select the time
setting "Off".
