    Image size and quality You can choose image size (number of pixels) and image quality (compression ratio) based on the kind of images you want to shoot. The larger you make the image size and the higher you make the image quality, the better your image, but also the larger the amount of data needed to preserve your image.

    Basic still image shooting – Using auto mode Mode dial , Set the mode dial to , and turn on the camera. The recording folder name is indicated on the screen for about five seconds. Remove the lens cap. • Select the recording medium using the CF switch (page 21).

    Digital zoom Enlarges the image using digital processing. Pressing (digital zoom) activates the digital zoom. There are two modes in the digital zoom function. One is “Precision digital zoom” and the other is “Smart zoom.” Because each mode uses different methods and has different magnifying capacity, choose the mode according to your shooting.
