HOISTING/HANDLING In order to remove the machine from the pallet, hook it up as shown in fig. 2. This hoisting point must be used whenever you need to change the installation position of the ma- chine. Do not attempt to move the machine until it has been disconnected from the electricity and compressed air supply systems.
  • Page 9: Installation

INSTALLATION Fix the wheel lift platform on the rod using the pin and the seeger. Then fix the stabilization rod with the screw and the relative nut and washer (Fig.3a). Assemble the grease-holder carter using the on-purpose screws. ELECTRICAL AND PNEUMATIC CONNECTIONS WARNING All operations required for the electrical connections of the equipment must be carried out exclusively by a qualified electrician.
  • Page 10 - The electrical supply must be suitably sized in relation to: • the machine input power as specified in the corresponding machine data plate; • the distance between the machine and the power supply hook-up point, so that voltage drops under full load do not exceed 4% (10% during start-up) compared with the rated voltage specified on the data plate.
  • Page 11: Safety Regulations

WARNING Connection 1 should be considered as an emergency valve to disconnect the machine from the air line (fig.6) SAFETY REGULATIONS The equipment is intended for professional use only. WARNING Only one operator may work on the equipment at a time. WARNING Failure to comply with the instructions and danger warnings may seriously injure operators and any other person present near the machine.

Key to danger/warning decals Risk of crushing. Never place any part of the body, particularly your hands, between the bead breaker disc or the demounting/mounting tools and the wheel. Never place your hand betwe- en the turntable and the wheel. Risk of crushing.
  • Page 28: Special Instructions

Special instructions Some types of wheels on the market require special procedures and precautions which differ from the standard procedure. This applies in particular to the following types of wheels: Alloy rim wheels: some wheels have alloy rims where the drop centre A is very small or non-existent - fig.
  • Page 29 2 During the early demounting phase, the tyre bead may still be inserted at 180° from the mounting tool area thus making the tool unable to completely overturn the tyre. In this case, it is necessary to keep the bead pressed in the channel using the supplied bead pressing device positioned at 6.00 o’clock (also the optional bead pressing clamp can be used).
  • Page 30: Guide To The Correct Use Of Teco 100

Advice To prevent any rim damage, the plastic insert under the head (fig. 13) must be replaced every 2 months or sooner, if excessively worn. A spare insert is supplied with the machine. Information Any noise heard when the tool head engages with the tyre is normal. The noise is caused by the mechanical return of the tool and not because the tool has hit the rim.
  • Page 31 - Manually lay the wheel onto the turntable (8) and lower the lifter by releasing pedal 29. - When positioning the wheel on the turntable, also take care to centre the movable centring pin, placed radially on the turntable, in one of the fixing bolt holes. User Manual...
  • Page 32 2 • Clamping the wheel to the self-centering spindle-Pneumatic Lock (Fig. 15a) - Fit the clamping device into the drop centre of the wheel (A). NOTE: The locking pin must be inserted till the end of its possible stroke, avoiding any contact between cone (2) and rim (1).
  • Page 33 - Move the bead breaking unit from the its rest to its operating position - Move the disc towards the rim: a) the horizontal movement is achieved by hand moving the control lever 38 or pneumatically operating on the control valve 31; b) the vertical movement is achieved by operating on the control valve 21.
  • Page 34 5 • Upper bead breaking (fig. 18) - Preload the bead breaker disc using control 21 (a tyre crushing preload of about 5 mm is advisable). - Activate disc penetration (control 25) and then start wheel spinning (pedal control 15), while pro- gressively lowering down the bead breaker disc (control 21).
  • Page 35 position A to contemporarily unlock working arm and horizontal arm. The tool will move upwards in its rest position (Fig.20A). With the locking button in position B, the tool can move freely downwards up to the rim edge or up to the minimum working height (Fig.20A).
  • Page 36 mounting tool to tilt. - Operate control 28 for demount tool (A-B-C) tilting. - It is important to rotate the turntable slightly to facilitate the engagement of the bead. - For easier bead coupling, it might be very helpful to move the bead breaker disc upwards on the lower part of the tyre.
  • Page 37 activity. This independent withdrawal movement could be performed manually using the control lever or pneumatically by means of an on-purpose control button. NOTE : While the lower arm remains at the correct bead breaking position, the upper one is equipped with a patented pneumo-mechanical memory of the original bead breaking position (allowing to perform in series the bead breaking activity on wheels having the same diameter).

  • Page 40 4 • Upper bead positioning (fig. 27) - Position the upper tyre bead. Take care that the tyre does not slip underneath the tool. 5 • Bring the bead breaking unit closer 6 • Bead breaker disc positioning (fig. 28) - Lower the bead breaker disc (control 21) (A) until it is level with the well of the rim.
  • Page 41 WARNING Proceed with care in this stage to avoid applying excessive stress to the tyre. It is recommended to slightly lift up the presser tool at 6 o’clock in order to release a little bit the pressure on the tyre bead. - Once the mounting phased is complete, raise the bead breaker disc and the bead presser tool (control 21).
  • Page 42 - Press pedal 16 to unlock the clamping pin (A). - Press the retainers and move the centring cone away from the rim by hand (B). - Remove the device from the rim (C). 11 • Tyre unloading (fig. 31) - Rise the wheel lifter (pedal 29) and position the wheel on it by hand (A).

INFLATION WARNING Inflation is well known to be a dangerous operation. It must be carried out in accordance with the instructions below. Safety goggles with plain lenses and safety footwear must be worn. CAUTION During this operation, noise levels assessed at 85 dB(A) may occur. Operators are advised to wear hearing protection devices.
  • Page 46 otherwise, deflate the tyre, break the beads as described in the relevant section, lubricate and turn the tyre on the rim. Repeat the mounting operation described previously and check again. - Replace the internal mechanism of the valve. - Bring the pressure to the operating value by pressing the Inflation push-button 20 fig. 34. - Fit the cap to the valve to protect its internal mechanism from dust and ensure an airtight seal.
