A
CESSNA ECONOMY MIXTURE INDICATOR
(EGT)
Exhaust gas temperature (EGT) as shown on the optional
Cessna
Economy Mixture Indicator may
be
used
as an
aid
for mixture leaning in
cruising
flight
at
75Vo
power
or
less. To adjust the
mixture' using this
indicator, Iean to establish the peak EGT
as a
reference point
and then
enrichen the mixture by the desired increment
based on
figure
4-4.
As noted in this table, operation at
peak
EGT provides
the best
fuel
economy.
This results in approximately
47o
greater
range
than
shorvn
in
this
handbook accompanied
by approximately
a
3
knot
decrease
in
speed.
Under
some
conditions, engine
roughness may occur
while operating
at
peak EGT. In
this
case,
operate
at
the Recommended Lean
mixture. Any
change
in
altitude
or
throttle position
will
require a
recheck
of
EGT
indication.
STALLS
The
stalt
characteristics are conventional and aural warning
is
provided by a stall warning horn which
sounds between 5
and
10
knots
above
the
stall in all configurations.

and
aft

positions
are presented
in
Section
5.
