    Baseplate Assembly For this step, you will need parts A, B, E, F, H (x4), I (x4), and a Philips screw driver. Figure 2 Figure 1 Align the Unwinder and Rewinder Baseplates on a flat stable surface, as shown in Figure 1. Align the Front and Rear Guides with the screw holes on the baseplates, as shown in Figure 2.

    Place the Baseplate Printer Guide (M) over the Rear Guide (F). Use two people to place the NeuraLabel 300x ST Printer on the Roll Unit Base, as shown in Figure 4. Note that the assembled system requires about 60 inches of clearance.

  • Page 11 Load Media into the Printer (1) Figure 14 Weave Media underneath Unwinder Tension Arm. Make sure the unit is turned OFF while loading media. Make sure there is plenty of slack in the media before loading the printer. Turn ON the unwinder after this step.
  • Page 12 Load Media into the Printer (2) Figure 15 Open the printer lid and adjust the guides to the media width. Then slide the media into the guides all the way to the back until it touches the media pick wheel. Make sure the guides are snug around the media.
  • Page 13 Adjust Unwinder Position Figure 17 Loosen the smaller locking screw and adjust UNWINDER position using the larger alignment screw to center paper path in printer as needed. (Leave the printer lid up for now so you can see the media.) Retighten the locking screw when done.

NOTE: Jog the media through the printer all the way to the rewinder core to “web up” the rewinder before printing. Experienced users will be able to perform media webbing during printing by using a “slow initial print”...
  • Page 15 Adjust Rewinder Arm to “Ready” Position Figure 20 Figure 19 Default Position Ready Position Because the Ready Position turns the motors off, now is a good time to turn on the rewinder power. Keep the arm up to keep the unit OFF.

  • Page 17 Add Star Wheels to Rewinder Arm Figure 22 Place 2-4 Star Wheels (N) on the rewinder arm. Space the star wheels so that they are centered on the media and 1-2 inches apart. The star wheels will protect the rewinder arm from collecting any ink that has not completely dried.
  • Page 18 Paste Printed Media to Rewinder Core Figure 23 After jogging the media through the printer (or as media comes out of printer during a print), weave the media under Rewinder Tension Arm and tape to core.
  • Page 19 Release Rewinder Tension Arm Figure 24 Once the media is secure, slowly release Rewinder Tension Arm from Ready Position so that it falls onto the media. You will see the rewinder turn. Readjust Rewinder position if needed (see page 15). WARNING: Treat the rewinder arm with care, yanking or tugging on the rewinder arm can cause it to become uncalibrated.

  • Page 21 Driver Settings: Make sure Mark Adjust has been set correctly in the printer driver. This places the label correctly in the continuous direction. Image Registration: Adjust the image placement using the printer’s web interface or through NeuraLabel’s Tooxbox application. See the User Guide for further information.
  • Page 22 The NeuraLabel 300x ST includes the integrated unwinder and rewinder. These systems have been designed to work well with the 300x ST and are normally required for straight through printing. If there is external drag on the printing system, jagged edges can occur within the print.
  • Page 23 Tips and Tricks for Printing on the 300x ST Tight Printed Media Rolls The following are tips for getting tightly wound printed media rolls on the 300x ST. Print Speed: Media rolls will be tightest at slower printing speed. Try slowing down the maximum printer speed (found in the printer driver).
