Reversing the outer cover
IMPORTANT!
Unlike the standard Startex
is non-reversible
– Do not use the Kidabra Cover turned inside out.
1.
Unzip the outer cushion cover.
2.
Remove the outer cushion cover.
3.
Turn the outer cushion cover inside out to the desired side.
4.
Install the cushion with inner cover into the outer cover with
the waffled recess facing down.
4 Usage
4.1 Safety information
WARNING!
Risk of injury
– Installing a cushion on a wheelchair may affect the
center of gravity of the wheelchair and may cause the
wheelchair to become unstable, potentially resulting
in injury.
– After any adjustments, repair or service and before
use, make sure that all attaching component parts are
secure.
– Ensure the seat cushion is properly secured to the
wheelchair before using. Otherwise injury or damage
may occur.
– Make sure that the locking clips are installed to ensure
the safety of the user and to prevent the cushion from
lifting.
WARNING!
Risk of injury
– Skin condition should be checked very frequently after
the installation of any new seating system.
– Your therapist and physician should be consulted if you
have any questions regarding individual limitations and
needs.
– Working with your therapist, physician, and equipment
supplier is the best way to ensure that a seating choice
matches your individual needs.
– As the needs of the individual become more complex,
the seating evaluation becomes more important.
– The cushion is designed to be used only at room
temperature. If it is left at lower temperatures, always
allow it to warm to room temperature before using.
Sitting on extremely cold or hot surfaces can cause
skin damage.
– Avoid sharp objects or exposure to excessive heat or
open flame.
5 Maintenance
5.1 Inspection
WARNING!
– Do not continue to use this product if problems are
discovered. Corrective maintenance can be performed
at or arranged through your equipment supplier.

Visually inspect parts including drop hooks, hardware, upholstery
materials, foams (if accessible), and plastics, for deformation,
corrosion, breakage, wear or compression and replace if
necessary.

5.2 Cleaning and care
IMPORTANT!
All cleaning agents and disinfectants used must be
effective, compatible with one another and must protect
the materials they are used to clean.
– For further information on decontamination in health
care environments, please refer to 'The National
Institute for Clinical Excellence' guidelines on Infection
Control www.nice.org.uk/CG139 and your local
infection control policy.
Cleaning the outer Startex
1.
Wipe clean the outer cover with a damp cloth.
or
2.
Carefully remove the cover by unzipping the zipper found on
the rear of the cushion.
3.
Close the zipper prior to laundering.
4.
Machine wash at 60° C using the delicate cycle (Instructions on
label).
IMPORTANT!
Washing at higher temperatures will cause shrinkage.
Drying the outer Startex
1.
Hang cover from a line or bar and drip dry in a clean indoor
environment.
or
Tumble dry on a low heat setting.
IMPORTANT!
– Tumble dry setting must not exceed 40 °C.
– Do not tumble dry for longer than 10 minutes.
– Dry thoroughly before re-fitting to the foam.
Cleaning the inner cover
IMPORTANT!
Risk of damage to the product
– Do not remove the inner cover from the foam core.

Wipe clean the inner cover with a damp cloth.
Replacing covers
1.
Carefully remove the cover by unzipping the zipper found on
the rear of the cushion.
2.
Place new cover onto the foam core.
IMPORTANT!
– Ensure that the corners of the foam core are positioned
correctly into the corners of the cover.
6 After Use
6.1 Storage
IMPORTANT!
– Store cushions in a dry environment.
– Store cushions within a protective cover.
– Store items on clean, dry, off-flooring free from sharp
edges to avoid any possible damage.
– Never store other items on top of a cushion.
– Do not store cushions next to radiators or other
heating devices.
– Protect cushions from direct sunlight.

6.2 Re-use
The product is suitable for repeated use. The number of times it can
be used depends on how often and in which way the product is used.
