B Get ready (p. 14).
• On the "Memory Stick PRO Duo" you can use with your camcorder, see page 2.
• Your camcorder turns on when you open the LCD panel (p. 18).

Recording with HD (high definition) image quality

• Your camcorder is compatible with AVCHD format "1920 × 1080/50i"
(p. 92), which provides highly-detailed, beautiful images.
x Using QUICK ON by opening/closing the LCD panel (p. 29)
• When you close the LCD panel during standby/recording, your
camcorder goes to sleep mode (power saving mode). You can start
recording quickly when you open the LCD panel again.
b Notes
• The default setting is [HD SP] which is AVCHD format "1440 × 1080/50i" (p. 62).
• You can also record with SD (standard definition) image quality (p. 57).
• "AVCHD 1080i format" is abbreviated as "AVCHD" in this manual, except when it must be
described in more detail.
B Play back the images using your camcorder.
