1. Minimum cabling distance for optical X2 transceivers is 2 meters according to the IEEE 802.3ae standard.
2. Requires a 5-dB 1550-nm, fixed-loss attenuator for distances less than 20 km.
3. For distances up to 30 km, no special link design rules need to be considered. Link distances beyond 30 km require that you
verify the cable characteristics, especially the cable's loss value.
4. When shorter distances of SMF are used, an inline optical attenuator (10 dB) must be used to avoid overloading and damaging
the receiver.
