Before first use

Inserting the Water Filter
n Your coffee machine comes with a charcoal water filter that eliminates chlorine, bad tastes
and odours from tap water.
n Remove the filter from the polybag and soak it, fully immersed, in cold tap water for 15
minutes.
n Open the lid on the coffee maker by pressing the indentation marked 'PUSH'
n Lift the water filter holder out of the water reservoir.
n Press down on the filter compartment and pull towards you to open.
n Place filter into the holder and snap it closed. Be careful – improper placement can tear the
filter skin.
n Flush filter by running cold tap water through holes in bottom of compartment for 10 seconds.
n Allow the filter to drain completely.
n Slide the water filter holder back into the channel in the water reservoir, pushing it down to
the base of the unit.
NOTE: We recommend changing the water filter every 60 days or after 60 uses, and more often
if you have hard water. Replacement filters can be purchased in stores, or by calling Cuisinart UK
After Sales Service or at www.cuisinart.co.uk
Flushing out the Machine
n We recommend flushing out the system before brewing your first cup of coffee. Simply fill a
cup with water (max 450ml) and pour into the reservoir. Place the same cup on the drip tray,
press the Grind Off button and power on the unit. Do not add coffee.
