iR6570-002 Points to Note About Servicing: Go through the following if any of the foregoing symptoms has occurred: 1. Eliminate condensation inside the machine: 1-1. Set the environment switch (drum/ non-interruptive switch) to ON (default: OFF). 1-2. Set "1" to the following in service mode (Level 2): COPIER>OPTION>BODY>DRUM-H-SW (default: "0").

iR6570-002 <Points to Note When Mounting the Scanner Unit> 1) To eliminate condensation inside the machine, it is important that the drum heater is kept ON while remounting the scanner unit. Be sure to go through the shut-down instructions when turning off the power. 2) When fitting the laser scanner unit in the machine, be sure to push the top [A] of the unit with your fingers and push it until it butts against the rear.

iR6570-002 2-9. Set "1" to the following in service mode: COPIER>FUNCTION>DPC>DPC (to force execution of potential control). 2-10. Hold down the control panel power switch for 3 seconds or more. 2-11. Go through the down-sequence instructions on the screen so that the main power switch may be turned off.

iR6570-002 4. Replace the developing assembly. 4-1. For instructions on disassembly and assembly, see the section "Removing the Developing Assembly" in the Service Manual. 5. Check the images. 5-1. Check the images as in step 3. 5-2. If the images are free of the foregoing symptoms, go to step 6. Otherwise, go to step 6 and then check other possible causes.
