e I/O (Input/Output) port
This port is provided with RS-422A/RS-
485 port, four sensor inputs and four
alarm outputs.
The RS-422A/RS-485 port is used when
you connect peripheral devices to this
unit using the RS-422A/RS-485
interface, and control the devices from
the computer or receive data from the
devices via the network.
The sensor input is used as the alarm
input and is used to synchronize the
camera operation with E-mail or other
applications.
The alarm outputs are used to control the
connected peripheral devices by
synchronizing with an external sensor
input, the built-in activity detection
function, a manual trigger button, the
Day/Night function or the timer
function.
For details on each function and
required settings, see the User's Guide
stored in the supplied CD-ROM.
For pin assignment and wiring, see "Pin
Assignment and Use of I/O Port" on
page 23.

Each connector inputs the images from
one of four cameras as the composite
signals.
Refer to the instruction manuals of the
camera for the camera connection.

This is a ground terminal for the chassis.

(network) port
Connect to a hub or computer on the
10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX network
using a network cable (UTP, category
5).
Caution
When using a LAN cable: For safety, do
not connect to the connector for
peripheral device wiring that might have
excessive voltage.

Connect a commercially available
speaker system with the built-in
amplifier.
You can connect the speakers of the
following specifications to this camera.
Type: Active speaker
Impedance: Input impedance 4.7 kohms

Connects with the line output on audio
equipment.

Connect a commercially available
microphone. This jack supports plug-in-
power microphones (rated voltage: 5 V
DC).
You can connect the microphones of the
following specifications to this camera.
Type: Electric condenser microphone
Plug-in power system
Plug: ø3.5 mm Mini-plug
l Reset switch
Turning on the power while pressing the
switch with a pointed object restores the
settings to the factory preset levels.

connectors (BNC type)
Outputs a composite video signal input
from one of the t 1-4 connectors to a
VTR or TV monitor through this unit.
Connect to a composite video input
connector of a VTR, TV monitor, etc..
Note
When the cables are connected to T
(video output) 1 to 4 connectors (BNC
type), the 75 ohms terminal inside this
unit is automatically turned off. Also,
the video image becomes whitish if 75
ohms is not terminated in the connected
equipment. This is not a malfunction of
the camera. When connecting to the T
