2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The 3DGflex unit has a cabinet for housing up to a maximum of 6
different types of module and a control unit that has various functions.
The control unit in the first slot enables:
• Powering up to 6 cards
• Programming the unit using the keypad and on-board display.
• Programming the entire central station locally or remotely using the
LAN port and the web interface
• Monitoring the central station locally or remotely using the LAN
port, and to receive the signals via email in case of problems
(CONTROLLER HOST included)
• Importing and exporting configurations to and from other stations of

the same type by means of the USB port or the PC memory
• Visually checking the station status, by means of the two signal leds
The cabinet does not just physically house the modules but also:
• Enables transferring the correct voltage to the modules.
• Enables communications between the modules and control unit for
programming and remote monitoring.
• Enables carrying forward the tuned in signals from other modules,
using it as an additional input on the back panel.
• Mixes the outgoing RF signals and amplifies them.
The cabinet also protects the access to the connections and CAMS,
owing to a door with lock and key and a protective shell for the CAMs.
The 3DG-2T2-2T module can be housed in the 3DGFlex unit, and
enables creating 2 channels in DVB-T or DVB-C standard, beginning
from the stream of 1,2 or 3 satellite transponders (QPSK-DVB-S2).
In fact, 2 DVB-T or DVB-C muxes can be created using as sources the
contents of 2 different satellite transponders, coming from 2 inputs,
and a third satellite transponder with the trasport stream though the
back panel coming in as input from a previous module.
The modulator is full band, therefore the 2 muxes can be modulated on 2 VHF-UHF band
channels.
Each module has 2 satellite inputs (SAT 1 e SAT 2) and a double common interface slot
associated to each of the 2 inputs, which enables decrypting programs from the same
transport stream.
There is also a USB port for rapidly updating the firmware directly from the USB drive, and
for copying the module configuration parameters to or from the drive using the control unit
USB port.
It can be programmed in one of two ways: Basic module programming using the keypad and
LCD display on the station control unit; complete programming using the web interface with
a local or remote PC connected to the LAN port on the control unit.
Each 3DG-2S2-2T can generate 14/18V per input, 22 KHz tone and DISEqC 1.0 tone-burst
to control other multiswitches, if any, or LNB and is equipped with a short-circuit protection
device. Max. remote power maximum current 200mA@14V/18V per input.
