6 Commissioning (initial start-up) 6.1 Safety precautions before start-up DANGER! To avoid accidents, the following must be observed: The PQC must be installed in accordance with its intended use before power is switched on. All the connectors supplied with the instrument must be plugged in. Before start-up, it must be ensured, for example by means of a closed door or a suitable cover, that the instrument terminals can no longer be touched.
Table 7-1 DIP switch functions 7.2 Network The network is the main interface of the PQM 1588. In the instrument as delivered, the network settings are intended to be configured by DHCP [Section 7.2.1]. If the instrument can no longer be accessed, due to faulty configuration or the loss of an IP address stored within it, the fallback network settings [Section 7.2.2] can resolve the situation.
DHCP enabled in the PQM and a DHCP server with DHCP option 12 activated. Authentication at the instrument website is by entering the user name frako. The default password is also frako, but this can be changed if desired in SYSTEM-SW.

7.3.2 Configuration: firmware update A firmware update can be carried out either in SYSTEM-SW or at the instrument website. To carry out a firmware update, use the Search button to select a firmware file with the format PQM1588_FIRMWARE_V01.XX.YY_rZZZZZZZ.zip, then click the OK button to start the update. This process can take several minutes.
7.3.4 Service functions: RS-485 On this page the settings for the two RS-485 bus interfaces can be adjusted. If it is found that the settings cannot be changed, the PQM 1588 hardware will not support an RS-485 interface. Figure 10 Service functions: RS-485 NOTE!
