Telephone operation

Options while on calls

Volume control
While on a call, press
-VOLUME to decrease
CID/
VOLUME
the volume, press
/VOLUME+ to increase
DIR
the volume.
When changing the volume level, the new setting
is saved.
Call waiting
If you subscribe to call waiting service with your
local telephone company, there will be a beep if
there is an incoming call while you are already on a
REMOVE
call. Press
/FLASH to put your current call
PHONE
on hold and take the new call. Press
FLASH
PHONE/
anytime to switch back and forth between calls. For
more information on caller ID, see page 24.
Mute
Press MUTE to silence the microphone. When mute
is on, MIC MUTED will show on the handset screen
temporarily. You will be able to hear the caller, but
the caller can not hear you until you press MUTE
again to resume your conversation. When the mute
function is turned off, MIC ON will show temporar-
ily on the handset screen.
Temporary tone dialing
If dial pulse (rotary) is selected, you can switch
to touch tone dialing during a call by pressing
*
.
This can be useful if it is necessary to send tone
signals for access to answering systems or long-
distance services.
After you hang up or press
/FLASH (to

During a call, if you hear clicks and pops, or if the
