The Service Diagnosis Section is for use in aiding
the servicemen in diagnosing a particular problem
for pin-pointing the area in which the problems
lines, thus an ever available reference for proper
corrective action.
1. ICE MAKING - REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
SYMPTON
Lo-refrigerant press.
Lo-water level.
The compressor runs but the
unit does not make ice.
Excessive

SERVICE DIAGNOSIS

The following chart lists corrective actions for the
causes of known symptoms of certain problems
that can occur in the ice making refrigerarion
system.
POSSYBLE CAUSE
Incorrect refrigerant
suction pressure.
Moisture in system.
Overcharge of oil in system.
Not enough refrigerant.
Intermittent water supply
or too low water pressure.
Drive motor gear reducer
inoperative.
V-belt loose or broken
Key may sheared.
Gear reducer with one
gear stripped-gff.
Pulley loose on motor shaft.
Water not entering reservoir.
Hi-pressure control cut-off
unit operation.
CORRECTION
Add refrigerant to raise suction
pressure.
Raise head press. Control setting.
Check moisture indicator and
remove charge and drier.
Replace & recharge the system.
Check for refrigerant leak.
Water shut-off valve closed.
Check and clean water strainer.
Check. Repair or replace.
Check. Repair or replace.
Check. Repair or replace.
Check. Repair or replace.
Check and clean. Water float
valve to be cleaned.
Check cooling water at
condenser. Condenser tube
clogged-up. Water regulating
valve to be re-adjusted.
