Monitoring the Interface Configuration

Use one of the following commands to display access and trunk interface configuration information:

clear counters [ interface ]
show interface counters [ module module ]
show interface counters detailed [ all ]
show interface counters errors [ module module]

Configuration Examples for Access and Trunk Port Mode

This example shows how to configure a Layer 2 access interface and assign the access VLAN for that interface:

Configuring Layer 2 Interfaces
Purpose
Displays the counters for a specified Ethernet
interface.
Displays the status for a specified Ethernet interface.

including the mode.
Displays information about the access and trunk
interface for all Layer 2 interfaces.
Displays trunk configuration information.
Displays information about the capabilities of the
interfaces.
Displays configuration information about the specified
interface.
Purpose
Clears the counters.
Displays input and output octets unicast packets,
multicast packets, and broadcast packets.
Displays input packets, bytes, and multicast as well
as output packets and bytes.
Displays information on the number of error packets.
