any facility where posted notices instruct you to do so. Hospitals or heal th car e facilities
may be using equipment that is sensitive to external RF energy.

The Health Industr y Manufacturers Associati on recommends that a minimum separ ation of
6 inches (15 centimeter s) be maintained between a handheld wirel ess device and a
pacemaker. These recommendations ar e consistent with the independent r esear ch by, and
recommendations of, Wir eless Technology Research.
Persons with pacemakers should:
ALWAYS keep the device more than six inches ( 15 centimeter s) from their pacemaker
when the device is tur ned ON.
Not carr y the devi ce in the br east pocket.
Use the ear opposite the pacemaker to minimize the potential for interfer ence.
Tur n the device OFF immediately if you have any r eason to suspect that inter ference
i s taking place.
He aring Ai ds
Some digital wir eless devi ces may interfer e with some hear ing ai ds. In the event of such
inter ference, you may want to consult your hearing aid manufacturer to discuss
alter natives.
