20 Ton Electric Log Splitter Before Use Checklist Ensure that you carry out all procedures below before operating the equipment. All procedures described are generic in nature and slight variations between different models may exist. 20 Ton Electric Log Splitter 5. Remove the split pin (40), M16 castellated nut (63) and M16 washer (64) from the axle on either end of the axle assembly (38). Then, slide each wheel (39) onto the axle. Place a M16 washer onto the axle, then the M16 castellated nut.

20 Ton Electric Log Splitter 9. Remove the 4 M8x35 bolts (65), washers (23), spring washers (22) and nuts (19) from the motor mounting plate on the axle assembly (38). Attach the motor (47) to the plate (ensure that the pump is facing toward the rear of the machine) using the previously removed fasteners.

20 Ton Electric Log Splitter 11. Attach the ON/OFF switch assembly (48) to the left side of the machine frame using 2 M6x12 bolts (55), spring washers (32) and washers (33). 12. Connect the oil pump outlet hose (26) to the oil pump (58) at connector (60) and to the control valve (motor side of the machine).
20 Ton Electric Log Splitter 15. Attach the log cradles (11) to each side of the main machine frame (1) using 4 M10x25 bolts (49) and nuts (17). Hydraulic Oil The hydraulic system requires adequate hydraulic oil of the correct type to operate safely and efficiently. The machine is shipped without hydraulic oil although some oil may be supplied.
20 Ton Electric Log Splitter Log Splitter Operation The machine must be operated by one person only. Do not allow helpers or bystanders within 30m (90') of the machine. Bystanders should wear eye protection. • Make sure there are no nails or foreign objects in logs to be split. • Log ends must be cut square. • Branches must be cut off flush with the trunk.
20 Ton Electric Log Splitter Splitting Logs 1. Place the log on the slide/work table (A), with one end up against the non-moving part – that is, log stop (1). 2. Operate the hydraulic ram using the ram control lever (2). Move the lever in the direction of the log stop and hold it there for the hydraulic ram/wedge to push the forward.
20 Ton Electric Log Splitter Towing Before towing, ensure the axle nuts are tight and the axle nut split pins and securely in place. • Ensure that the tyres are inflated to the pressure marked on the tyre wall. • Do not tow if the tyres are worn, damaged or do not hold air pressure.

Remove (rotate left) the drain plug (A) on the underside of the oil reservoir (main machine frame) and allow oil to drain from the tank.
