ABSORPTION RATE (SAR)
THIS MODEL MEETS THE GOVERNMENT'S
REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO
WAVES
Your cellular phone is a radio transmitter and re-
ceiver. It is designed to meet the requirements for
exposure to radio waves established by the Feder-
al Communications Commission (FCC, USA) and
by Health Canada. These requirements include
safety margins designed to assure the protection of
all persons, regardless of age and health. They use
a unit of measurement known as the Specific Ab-
sorption Rate (SAR). The SAR limit is 1.6 W/kg av-
eraged over one gram of tissue.
The highest SAR value for this device when tested
at the ear was 0.53 W/kg. In positions other than
the head, such as on the body, a separation dis-
tance of 0 cm is required. The highest SAR value in
this case was 1.40 W/kg.
