How do I clean the A E R O B I K A?
To clean the Monaghan AEROBIKA® OPEP device:
1. Disassemble the device into 4 or 5 parts. If using the manometer accessory, remove it but do not soak it—just wipe it down.
2. Wash the parts in warm soapy water.
3. Rinse thoroughly in clean water.
4. Air dry completely before reassembling. Ensure all parts are fully dry.
5. Dishwasher option: You may place parts in the top rack basket of a dishwasher (avoid the drying cycle).
6. Monthly cleaning option: Soak disassembled parts in a solution of 1 cup vinegar and 1 cup water for 1 hour, then wash as usual.
7. Disinfection (daily or at least every 7 days):
- Boil in water for 5 minutes, or
- Use a microwave steam bag (follow bag instructions), or
- Soak in 70% isopropyl alcohol for 5 minutes, or
- Soak in 3% hydrogen peroxide for 30 minutes, or
- Soak in 1:50 bleach solution for 3 minutes.
Always rinse thoroughly after disinfection and dry fully before use.
