(LCD) icons. AED Sentinel can monitor both status indicator types. AED Sentinel uses a camera to monitor the status indicator on each of your AEDs. When you install AED Sentinel hardware in your AED cabinets, make sure the AED Sentinel camera is properly aimed at each AED’s status indicator.
Follow these steps to install your AED Sentinel monitoring hardware: Drill the antenna hole To work properly, AED Sentinel needs to use the included external antenna to connect to the cellular network. Drill a 9/32”-inch (7.1mm) hole in the top of your AED cabinet to accommodate the cable that connects the external antenna with the AED Sentinel communications module.
Install the AED Sentinel Monitoring Hardware Install the battery pack Insert batteries. Make sure the battery pack is turned off. Slide the cover to remove it and insert all the included batteries, taking care to position them as shown in the battery compartment.
Install the AED Sentinel Monitoring Hardware COMMUNICATIONS MODULE LED LIGHT AND ROUND BUTTON FACING TOWARD CABINET DOOR Install the cable management clip Attach the cable management clip. Peel the protective backing off one of the included cable management clips (we’ve provided one extra). Attach it to the ceiling of the cabinet midway between the hinged side of the cabinet and the antenna hole with the open end facing front, toward the cabinet door.

Aim the camera For AED Sentinel to monitor your AED, the camera lens must be properly aimed at the AED’s status indicator. The AED cabinet door mounting system allows the camera to be positioned horizontally along the cabinet door and vertically along the rails.

Install the AED Sentinel Monitoring Hardware Check the camera lens and AED position. Close the cabinet door and, through the glass, view the three aiming notches on the back of the camera to check the position of the camera lens in relation to the AED’s status indicator.

Install the AED Sentinel Monitoring Hardware Aim vertically. Viewing the status indicator at eye level, use the aiming notches at the sides of the camera to check whether the camera lens points at the center of the status indicator. If it doesn’t, open the door and slide the camera up or down on the rails to adjust its position.
Activate the AED Sentinel Monitoring Unit Follow these steps to activate your AED Sentinel monitoring unit: Add your AED to AED Sentinel Manager. Log in to your AED Sentinel Manager account, go to the Monitored AEDs page and click Add Monitored AED. On the Add Monitored AED page, use the Sentinel ID found on the AED Sentinel communications module you just installed (the number is also on the box).

AED’s status indicator in the center of the picture and is not obstructed in any way. Also confirm the AED’s status shows “Ready” in AED Sentinel Manager. If needed, readjust the camera, AED or cables, turn the battery pack off and then on, and press the button on the communications module again.
AED and send you alerts and messages if the AED cabinet door is opened, the AED status indicator changes from Ready to Not Ready, or if you need to replace your AED batteries or pads.
