Playable Discs
This unit can play DVD videos, Audio CDs, CD-R and CD-RW. The symbol indicating the type of disc is on the
label or the jacket.

* Although DVD-R discs that have been recorded in the video mode can be played back, there are times when
a disc cannot be played back, depending on how it was recorded.
• Discs apart from the CDs above, such as video CDs, photo CDs, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW disc cannot be
played.
• Some CD-R/RW discs may be incompatible.
• This unit uses the NTSC color system, and cannot play DVD video discs recorded in any other color system
(PAL, SECAM, etc.).
The region number of this unit is 1. If region numbers, which stand for their playable area, are
printed on your DVD video disc and you do not find
the player.
Notes in Playing CDs
Please use discs that have the CD logo,
• We cannot guarantee sound quality or playback if you use a disc that does not comply with CD standards,
such as a copy-controlled discs, specially shaped discs, etc.
• We cannot guarantee playback in the CD playback function if you use CDs that do not meet CD standards,
such as those with Copy Guard, etc. When playing a CD, please check that it has the CD logo symbol and
read the notes on the package to be sure that the disc complies with CD standards. If you have difficulty in
playing CDs only with CDs that do not comply with CD standards, we would ask you to contact the retailer of
those discs for detailed information.
Structure of Disc Contents
Normally, DVD video discs are divided into titles, and the titles are sub-divided into chapters. Audio CDs are
divided into tracks. Each title, chapter or track is assigned a number, which is called "title number", "chapter
number" or "track number" respectively.
