LAN cable
In order to connect the system unit to a network such as a LAN or a WAN,
connect a network interface connector on the rear side of the system unit to a
switching hub by using a LAN cable.
The system unit has two network interface connectors as standard options.
Network interface connector 1: Connects to onboard LAN1
Network interface connector 2: Connects to onboard LAN2
If you install an optional LAN mezzanine (CN7M0T-Y/CN7M0T-R/CN7M1T-Y/
CN7M1T-R/CN7M1S-Y/CN7M1S-R), you can add two network interface
connectors.
Network interface connector 3: Connects to LAN mezzanine LAN1
Network interface connector 4: Connects to LAN mezzanine LAN2
The onboard LAN controller of the system unit and the LAN controller of an
optional LAN mezzanine (CN7M0T-Y/CN7M0T-R) support
1000BASE-T/100BASE-TX/10BASE-T. We recommend using enhanced category
5 LAN cables or better.
The LAN controller of an optional LAN mezzanine (CN7M1T-Y/CN7M1T-R)
supports 10GBASE-T/1000BASE-T. We recommend using enhanced category 6A
cables or better with 10GBASE-T, and using enhanced category 5 cables or
better with 1000BASE-T.
The LAN controller of an optional LAN mezzanine (CN7M1S-Y/CN7M1S-R)
supports 10GBASE-T Small Form-factor Pluggable+ (SFP+) Direct Attach. If you
use 10GBASE-SR, use the LAN cable meeting the following specifications.
