Section VII - Problem solving

Attention
1. Before carrying out any maintenance, repair work or adjustment, switch off the
voltage.
2. Open and lock the isolating switch to prevent an accidental start.
3. Isolate the compressor by closing the outlet valve.
4. Depressurize the system by opening the drain valve(s).

On/off switch (Q1)

too late or not at all.
Safety valve (SV) opens too
soon.
Air pressure switch (PS) out of
order
Air consumption exceeds
capacity of compressor.
Choked air filter
Safety valve leaking
Drive belts slipping.
Compressor element out of
order

Remedy
Compressor will start again
when the pressure drops to the
starting pressure.
Have electrical connections
checked.
Test switch. Replace if necessary.
Restart after cooling down.
Wait for switch to cool down.
Replace switch if necessary.
Reset overload relay (F21).
Test switch, replace if necessary.
Readjust switch, replace if
necessary.
Have valve replaced.
Replace if necessary.
Check equipment connected.
Remove and check filter.
Replace if necessary.
Replace valve.
Check condition of belts and
belt tension.
Correct or replace as required.
Consult the supplier.
