GETTING STARTED
Color Kinetics® Juice Box uses our patented
Smartjuice™ technology to provide both power
and data to iColor™ MR lamps over conven-
tional two-wire circuits.
This guide contains important information on
installing your new Juice Box 2. For your protec-
tion please read it carefully before you embark
on your colorful adventure. There are very few
rules, but those that exist are there for your
safety.
WARNING: Juice Box 2 is rated for installa-
tion in environments where the temperature
does not exceed 104º F (40º C).
Juice Box 2 is not suited for outdoor locations
and must be shielded from water spray.

(up to 40) iColor MR fixtures
CAUTION: Do not use with any product other
than iColor MR.
INSTALLING JUICE BOX 2
This product should be installed by a qualified
electrician in accordance with NEC and rele-
vant local codes.
•
Select the location to mount the housing,
keeping in mind that the maximum distance
from the Juice Box 2 to any iColor MR prod-
uct cannot exceed 50 feet.
•
Mount the housing to the surface with the four
mounting screws. (See Fig. 1.)

Juice Box 2 is designed to be powered by the
C-Series Power Supply available from Color
Kinetics (Model# PWR-002).
WARNING: Make sure the power supply is off
before connecting or disconnecting fixtures.
Otherwise, damage to the fixture may result.
Using the C-Series Power Supply
• Connect the BNC cable from the Color
Kinetics power supply to the Juice Box 2 ter-
minal labeled +24V BNC input. (See Fig. 2.)

Using Other Power Supplies
If you are using a separate power supply with-
out a BNC connector, connect the power supply
to the Juice Box 2 screw terminals labeled
+24V DC Input/Auxiliary Output.
• Connect the POWER + lead to the left screw
terminal and the POWER – lead to the right
screw terminal. (See Fig. 3.)
WARNING: The power supply must be a
Class 2 device or must be equipped with a 4A
slow blow fuse. Use of an unlisted device may
cause damage to the equipment.

WITH JUICE BOX 2
Juice Box 2 offers 24V DC output that may be
used to power a Color Kinetics controller or
other auxiliary unit.
•
Connect the leads from the auxiliary unit to
the screw terminals labeled 24V DC Class 2
Input/Auxiliary Output. (See Fig. 4.)

WARNING: The Auxiliary Output terminal is
designed for use only with Color Kinetics con-
trollers such as Synchronizer, Multi
Synchronizer, and iPlayer. Do not use the
Auxiliary Output to power Color Kinetics lights.
