DEMA MODEL 466P SOLENOID VALVE
A. INSTALLATION
Inlet and outlet connections are 3/4" taper pipe threads. Valve may be mounted in any position, but fluid
must enter the connection marked "IN". The solenoid coil is provided with a junction box (unless
otherwise specified). The coil leads must be connected to a power source with the correct voltage as
shown on the coil tag. The coil and housing may be swiveled in any direction. Note the space required to
remove the coil for servicing.
WARNING: Use care when handling hazardous chemicals.
FLUIDS:
Valves are intended for water, air, light oil, and other noncorrosive fluids. They should not
be used for gasoline and other hazardous or explosive fluids. Maximum fluid temperature is
200 F (93.3 C). Ambient temperature shall not exceed 120 F (48.8 C).
WARNING: NOT FOR USE WITH HAZARDOUS OR CORROSIVE OR EXPLOSIVE FLUIDS.
B. TROUBLE SHOOTING
CAUTION: Turn off water and electricity before servicing.
1. Coil Burnout
2. Failure to Open
3. Failure to Close
CAUTION: When servicing unit be sure that replacement parts have been installed according to
drawing.
C. GENERAL SPECIFICTIONS
Maximum operating pressure differential 120 PSI A.C., 100 PSI D.C. Safe working pressure 150 psi. C
flow factor 10 for sp. gr. l fluids. Electrical - AC power 10 Watts, DC power 15 Watts.

Caused by overvoltage
a. No power or low voltage.
b. Open circuit or burned out coil.
c. Pressure differential above 150 psi.
d. Solenoid plunger movement impaired by dirt or damaged
enclosing tube.
a. Coil still energized.
b. Valve installed backwards.
c. Dirt on solenoid plunger seats.
d. Dirt on main port seat or in diaphragm bleed hole.
