How to Use the USB2-GPIB (a) Connection As shown in Figure 1 below, insert the USB connector into the USB port of the oscilloscope, then attach the IEEE-488/GPIB connector to the PC. During the first use of the adaptor, Windows will install the device driver. -

(b) Setting Up the GPIB Set up the GPIB on the measurement screen of the oscilloscope (Figure 2) following the steps shown below. j T ouch [Utilities] in the menu bar and select [Utilities Setup] from the pull-down menu. k Click the Remote tab in the setup area in the lower part of the screen. -

(c) Communication Status The USB2-GPIB is equipped with two LEDs on the GPIB connector side to indicate the communication status. The LEDs indicate the following statuses: j Red READY LED is ON: Power to the USB2-GPIB is ON. k Green ACTIVE LED blinks to indicate GPIB activity. -

Firmware Upgrade After initial driver installation or an oscilloscope firmware upgrade, it may be necessary to upgrade the dongle firmware on the USB2-GPIB. A pop up window will appear to indicate incompatibility and instruct you to remove the device. -
