" (10mm) compression fitting thermostatic mix ing valve

maintains and limits hot water to desired se lect able temperature
between 80°F and 120°F (27°C and 49°C) and with flow rates as low
as 0.5 gpm (1.9 lpm) and as high as 2.5 gpm (9.5 lpm). The mix ing
valve is list ed to ASSE Stan dard 1070 for sin gle fix ture applications.
The USG-B and LFUSG-B se ries uses a dou ble throt tling de sign to
con trol both the hot and cold wa ter sup ply to the mixed outlet. The
superior flow char ac ter is tics of this valve pro vides accurate tem per a-
ture con trol (±3°F) with low pres sure drop. As an add ed fea ture, the
USG-B-M1 and LFUSG-B-M1 in cor po rates dual check valves to pro-
tect against cross-flow and integral screens to filter out debris. A cap
is provided for three port application.
Temperature Adjustment
1. Loosen the cap screw with the
hex wrench pro vid ed.
2. As a safety feature the cap
must be partially lifted from the
valve to adjust temperature.
3. With the faucet turned on and
in the full hot position, adjust
the setting of the valve to
obtain the desired outlet water
temperature. Turn clockwise to
decrease temperature.
4. Lower handle and tighten screw.
5. Check outlet temperature.
The hot water should be allowed to flow for two or three min-

utes prior to adjusting the valve set ting in order to have the hottest
inlet tem per a ture flow ing through the valve.
Applications
The unit is intended for under sink installation to con trol the hot water temper-
ature and prevent ac ci den tal scalding. The water temperature must be ad just-
ed by the installer using a thermometer to mea sure the hot water temperature
at the faucet outlet. Maximum tem per a ture of 110°F (43°C) is rec om mend ed.
Application Note
Delivery of water to fixtures intended for use in bath ing or wash ing
should always be controlled by valves listed to ASSE Stan dard 1016 or
ASSE Standard 1070 such as Watts Series USG, LFUSG, MMV, LFMMV,
L111, or LFL111 mix ing valves.
These valves provide the user with both scald protection and pro tec tion from
thermal shock. These valves should always be ad just ed after installation to
de sired temperature.
Typical Installations
The Watts Series USG-B and LFUSG-B
Under Sink Guardian installs easily onto
most faucets.
• Shut off supply valves and remove exist-
ing pip ing to faucet.
• Connect the USG-B-M1 or LFUSG-B-M1
to the supply valves and the faucet.
