the phone. Lock Mode also restricts access to menus and the
Volume key.
To enter Lock Mode:
In standby mode, press
on the top of the
phone. The lock mode screen
appears momentarily in the
display, then the screen goes
dark.
To exit Lock Mode:
While in Lock mode, press
and hold
until the
standby mode screen
appears in the display.

Standby Mode
Standby mode is the state of the phone once it has found service
and is idle. The phone goes into standby mode:
After you power the phone on.
When you press
after a call or from within a menu.
In standby mode, you will see the time, day, and date as well as
all phone status icons.
Place Calls in Standby Mode
In standby mode, enter a phone number, and press
1.
to place a call.
Press
to return to standby mode.

Receive Messages in Standby Mode
While your phone is in standby mode, new incoming messages
automatically appear in the screen as they are received. Use the
Navigation key to scroll through text or to view complete images.
Talk Mode
You can place and receive calls only when your phone is on.
While in a call your phone is in talk mode. During a call, a number
of option buttons are available in the call screen. (For more
information, refer to "The In-Use Options" on page 34.)
Speakerphone Mode
During a call, you can place the Delve in Speakerphone mode,
allowing you to conduct your call hands-free and/or to share the
call with nearby people.
To turn Speakerphone mode on, during a call, press
