Press and hold the release button (1) and slide off the battery cover (2 and 3).

If necessary, remove the battery.
3.
Remove the SIM card from any packaging, and hold the card so that the metal contacts
on the SIM card face down and the cutoff corner points toward the top-left corner of the
BlackBerry device.
4.
Slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot until it stops (4 and 5).
