Troubleshooting Check

Checking

✤ If you run into any problem using the camcorder, use the following table to try and resolve the problem.
✤ If these instructions do not allow you to solve the problem, take a note of:
I The model and serial number marked on the bottom of the camcorder.
I Your warranty, if applicable.
✤ Then contact your nearest authorized service centre.
Symptom
You cannot switch the camcorder on.
Start/Stop does not operate while
shooting.
The camcorder goes off automatically.
The battery pack is quickly exhausted.
You cannot eject the cassette from
the compartment.
The DATE/TIME indicator flashes
more than 2 times when you set the
camcorder to CAMERA.
The playback picture is in poor quality.
You can do nothing
with the camcorder.

N Check the battery pack (see page 19)
or the AC power adapter. (see page 18)
N Check the POWER set it to CAMERA.
N You have reached the end of the cassette.
N Check the record protection tab on the cassette. (see page 22)
N You have left the camcorder set to STANDBY
for more than 5 minutes without using it.(see page 24)
N The battery pack is fully used up. (see page 21)
N The atmospheric temperature is too low. (see page 21)
N The battery pack has not been charged fully.(see page 19)
N The battery pack is completely dead, and cannot be recharged.
Use another battery pack.
N The battery pack is fully discharged.
N A mechanical fault may have occurred. (see page 57)
N The lithium battery is not installed or is fully used up. (see page 17)
N The video heads might be dirty. (see page 55)
N A mechanical fault may have occurred. (see page 57)
