HANDLING THE UNEXPECTED

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Monitors the tire pressure while you are driving.
If your vehicle's tire pressure becomes
significantly low, the low tire pressure
indicator comes on and a message
appears on the driver information
interface.
What to Do
n
Stop your vehicle in a safe place.
Check the tire pressure and adjust
the pressure to the specified
level on the label on the driver's
doorjamb.
TPMS Calibration
n
Any time you inflate, change, or rotate one or more of the tires, you must
recalibrate the system. The calibration process requires approximately 30
minutes of cumulative driving at speeds between 30–60 mph (48–97 km/h).
The vehicle must be stopped to begin calibration and the process finishes
automatically.
Models with Color Audio
Use the selector knob and the audio/
information screen to calibrate the
system.
1. Press the MENU/CLOCK button.
2. Select Settings, then Vehicle
Settings.
3. Select TPMS Calibration.
4. Select Calibrate.
If the Calibration Failed to Start. message appears, repeat steps 3-4
The calibration process finishes automatically.

Models with Display Audio
Use the touchscreen to make and enter selections.
1. Press the HOME button.
2. Select Settings, then Vehicle.
3. Select TPMS Calibration.
4. Select Calibrate.
If the Calibration Failed to Start.
message appears, repeat steps
3-4.
The calibration process finishes automatically.
If the low pressure indicator remains on after recalibration, it may indicate a
fault in the system. Have your vehicle checked by a dealer.
NOTICE
Driving on an extremely underinflated tire can cause it to overheat. An
overheated tire can fail. Always inflate your tires to the specified pressure.
