The example images portray a TouchMix-16 running firmware version 3.0, but the TouchMix-8 and TouchMix-30 Pro are nearly identical in operation. 1. NAVIGATION Let’s go through some basic controls and navigation. First you’ll need to know how to power Up/Down the mixer: • Press the Power/Standby button on the right-hand side of the mixer to power on the mixer (Image 1.1). •...

NAVIGATION (Cont’d) Now that you’ve got the basic control of the mixer down, let’s dive a little deeper and explore the Channel Strip of a channel. • Open a chanel’s Channel Strip by touching the channel name above the fader (Image 1.7). 1. NAVIGATION (Cont’d) • You can select the Channel Compressor (Comp) and Gate by touching their respective tabs at the top of the screen (Image 1.10). Touching RTA On displays the channel’s Real Time Analyzer. 2. ADVANCED & SIMPLE MODE TouchMix caters to all levels of users. With Simple and Advanced Modes, it is easy for any user to quickly create a mix and sound great. Advanced and Simple Modes are available on a variety of different functions on the mixer including Gates, Compressors, EQ and FX.

3. PRESETS TouchMix comes equipped with a multitude of factory-programmed channel presets. These tools are designed to help you get a great live sound mix as quickly and as easily as possible. These high quality presets are good for a variety instruments, microphones and musical styles.

3. PRESETS (Cont’d) • Select a category from the “Instrument” window. The middle window will display a list of options for that category. • Select one of these options—the right window will display a list of options for that instrument (Image 3.4).

3. PRESETS (Cont’d) Now let’s say you’ve recalled a Preset and you’ve made some adjustments on your own. Maybe you fined-tuned the EQ, or adjusted the Compressor to better match your application. You can save those settings as your own Custom Preset and have the ability to recall it again at any time.
4. SCENES This is the section of the mixer in which you can create and store up to 130 Custom User Scenes. A Scene is a snapshot of the entire mixer and all of its settings. If you get the mixer dialed in for a particular venue you play often or maybe a particular band or even a song, you can save those settings as a scene and recall them at any time.

5. EFFECTS qsctraining.com/touchmix Now that you have your mix set up and sounding good with EQ and dynamics, let’s sweeten it up even more. TouchMix comes with 6 FX Processors that can be recalled into 4 Effects Master Engines (6 for Effect TouchMix-30 Pro).

6. WIZARDS qsctraining.com/touchmix Another great feature unique to TouchMix are the Wizards. The Gain Wizard Effects Wizard are tools that will help you set the Tuning Wizard mixer up optimally and easily. These features are designed to help you get the most out of your live performance.

6. WIZARDS (Cont’d) The Gain Wizard is designed to help you get the best performance possible from your mixer by helping you set the trim level for your Input preamps. To Access the Gain Wizard: • Press the “Wizard” (Image 6.7) button on the right-hand side of the mixer.

6. WIZARDS (Cont’d) (new with firmware Room Tuning Wizard version 3.0) assists in adjusting equalization and fine tuning a loudspeaker system to an acousti- cal space. Once the Wizard has measured and Image 6.10 compensated for room acoustics, you can apply a factory programmed response or adjust to taste.
7. AUXES The TouchMix 16 has 6 Mono Auxiliary Outputs and two stereo auxiliary outputs, allowing for a total of 8 separate Aux mixes. Touchmix 8 has a total of 4 Mono Auxes with a stereo output jack paralleled to Aux channels 3 and 4.

8. RECORDING TouchMix is capable of multi-track recording all individual inputs and the stereo main mix to an external hard drive. These recordings can be exported later to be mixed and edited further using your favorite Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) or you can mix them down on your TouchMix.
