REPLACEMENT OF BATTERY FOR MEMORY PROTECTION
Time for battery replacement
Life of the memory protection battery is approximately 5 years at 25°C(77°F) with the
power plug not connected to the socket.
• When the battery is depleted, the set tax rate and the memory contents will be lost. You may
want to write down the tax rate and other important numbers on a sheet of paper.
• When replacing the battery, the set tax rate and the memory contents will be lost.
(The life of the pre-installed battery may be shorter than expected because of the time
the calculator spends during shipment.)
How to change the battery
Use one lithium battery (CR2032).
Caution: When replacing the battery, the set tax rate and the memory contents will be lost.
1) Connect the AC adaptor to an outlet and turn the power key "OFF".
2) Remove the battery cover from the back of the sub-display. (Fig. 1)
3) Remove the exhausted battery and install one new lithium battery. Wipe the battery well
with a dry cloth and place the plus "+" side upward. (Fig. 2)
4) Replace the battery cover by reversing the removal procedure.
5) Press the RESET switch.

• Turn the power key "ON". Check that "0." is displayed. If "0." is

the battery, as a reminder of when to change it again.
Precautions on battery use
• Do not leave an exhausted battery in the equipment.

• Store batteries out of the reach of small children.

Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer.
Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions.

RESETTING THE UNIT
Strong impacts, exposure to electrical fields, or other unusual conditions may render the unit
inoperative, and pressing the keys will have no effect. If this occurs, you will have to press
The RESET switch next to the Power key. The RESET switch should be pressed only
when:
• an abnormal event occurs and all keys are disabled.
• you install or replace the battery.
Notes:
• Pressing the RESET switch will clear the tax rate setting,
the MODE setting, the history and the memory contents.
• Use only a ballpoint pen to press the RESET switch. Do
not use anything breakable or anything with a sharp tip,
such as a needle.
• Connect the AC adaptor to an outlet, then press the
RESET switch. Turn the power k e y "ON" and check that
"0." is displayed.

CAMBIO DE LA PILA PARA PROTECCIÓN DE LA MEMORIA
Plazo para cambiar la pila
La duración de la pila de protección de la memoria será de aproximadamente 5 años a
25°C sin el enchufe de alimentación conectado a una entrada de corriente.
• Cuando se agota la batería, el tipo de impuesto establecido y el contenido de la memoria se
pierden. Puede anotar el tipo de impuesto y otras cifras importantes en una hoja de papel.
• Cuando se sustituye la batería, el tipo de impuesto establecido y el contenido de la memoria se pierden.
(La duración de la pila instalada en fábrica puede ser más corta de la esperada debido
altiempo transcurrido desde el envío de la calculadora.)
Método de cambio de la pila
Utilice una pila de litio (CR2032).
Precaución: Cuando se sustituye la batería, el tipo de impuesto establecido y el contenido de la memoria
se pierden.
1) Conectar el adaptador de CA a una toma de corriente y ponga el tecla de la alimentación en "OFF".
2) Retire la tapa de la batería de la parte posterior de la pantalla secundaria. (Fig. 1)
3) Retire la pila agotada e instale una pila de litio nueva. Limpie bien la pila con un
pañoseco y coloque el lado positivo "+" hacia arriba. (Fig. 2)
4) Vuelva a colocar la cubierta de la pila siguiendo a la inversa el procedimiento de retirada.
5) Pulsa el interruptor RESET.

• Ponga el tecla de la alimentación en "ON".

Compruebe que se visualice "0.". Si no se visualiza "0.",
retire la pila, vuelva a instalarla y compruebe de nuevo la
visualización.
• Confirmar la tasa de impuestos y el MODO.
• Anote el mes y el año en que cambia la pila en el recuadro de la
derecha para acordarse de cuándo tiene que volver a cambiarla.
Precauciones al utilizar la pila
• No deje una pila descargada en el equipo.
• No exponga la pila al agua ni a las llamas, y no la desarme.
• Guarde las pilas donde no puedan alcanzarlas los niños.
Notas para el manejo de las baterías de litio:
PRECAUCIÓN
Peligro de explosión si reemplaza incorrectamente la batería.
Reemplácela por otra igual o de tipo equivalente recomendada por el fabricante.
Deshágase de las baterías de acuerdo con las instrucciones del fabricante.

REPOSICIÓN DE LA UNIDAD
Los impactos fuertes, la exposición a campos eléctricos u otras condiciones inusuales
