fastened. Wires and terminals should be free of
corrosion, cracks or moisture.
DEFROST DRAINS. Check the defrost drain hose and
fittings to be sure that they are clear so condensate
can drain during defrosting. Check the bottom end of
drain hose to be sure that is not plugged or crushed.
STRUCTURAL. Visually check for physical damage.
REFRIGERANT CHARGE. Check for proper refrigerant
charge level.

3.4.4 After Start Inspection

THERMOSTAT. Dial the thermostat setting above and
below the box temperature to check thermostat
operation.
PRE-COOLING. With the thermostat set at the desired
temperature, allow the unit to run for one-half to one
hour (longer if possible) before loading the vehicle.
Pre-cooling will remove residual body heat and
moisture from the box interior and provide a good
test of the refrigeration system.
DEFROST. When the unit has finished pre- cooling the
vehicle interior, initiate a defrost cycle with the
manual defrost switch. The defrost cycle icon should
light up and the cycle will automatically terminate if
unnecessary.

3.4.5 Loading Procedure

Be sure the unit is OFF before opening the doors to
minimize frost accumulation on the evaporator coil
and heat gain inside the box. (Unit may be running
when loading the vehicle from a refrigerated
warehouse with door seals.)
Spot check and record load temperature while
loading. Note any off-temperature product.
Load product so that there is adequate space for air
circulation completely around the load. DO NOT block
the evaporator inlet or outlet.
Products should be pre-cooled before loading.
Transport refrigeration systems are designed to
maintain loads at the temperature at which they were
loaded. Transport refrigeration units are not designed
to pull hot loads down to temperature.

3.4.6 Post Load Procedure

Be sure all the doors are closed and locked.

Adjust the thermostat to the desired
•
temperature set point.
• Start the unit.
• Half an hour after loading, defrost the unit
by momentarily pressing the Manual
Defrost switch. If the coil temperature has
dropped below 2°C (35°F), the unit will
defrost. The defrost cycle should stop
automatically.

3.4.7 Weekly Post Trip Checks

Clean the unit.

• Check for leaks.
• Check for loose or missing hardware.
Check for physical damage to unit.
•

3.5 ALARM MANAGEMENT

In the event of a malfunction the unit will shut down and
the in-cab controller will display an alarm message. The
message will remain displayed until the malfunction is
corrected. A listing of the error messages and alarm codes
is provided below.

3.5.1 Accessing alarm messages

Press and hold the <UP ARROW> button. The upper display
will show the code of the last alarm that has occurred, the
lower display indicates its number in the alarm record. If
the <UP ARROW> is further pressed the codes of the other
alarms are displayed, from the most recent
oldest one.
If there are no alarms in the archive, "noA" will be
displayed.

3.5.2 Reset alarms

Access the alarm messages. To delete the alarm messages
press <SET> BUTTON for 3 sec until message "rSt" appears
on the lower display.
To clear the whole archive, press the <SET> key for 10
seconds
