After connecting the SmartPAD(as shown in the Connection
Diagram),you will need to configure Ableton Live to recognize it:

->Preferences(PC) or Live ->Preferences(MAC).
"SmartPAD" as the device for the "Input" and "Output".
as the device for the "Control Surface".
