PRACTICAL DETECTION WORK

Each spot of the search head has nearly the same detection sensitivity.
However, the maximum detection signal will be produced if the detected metal
object is located directly in the centre of the search head.
The metal detector uses a dynamic function principle to avoid false alarms and
to ensure an optimal soil adjustment. That means the search head must
always be moved in order to ensure the maximum sensitivity. The movements
can be made sideways or forwards and backwards depending on the terrain.
If you have detected a metal object, you can determine its exact position by
searching the maximum detection signal when moving the search head
sideways and forwards/backwards. The metal objects is located at the cross
over point of both movements

Pinpointing

To facilitate the pinpointing procedure the Metal
Detector is provided with a PINPOINT-button.
When pressing the PINPOINT-button the
dynamic mode is switched OFF. That means
the detection signal is no longer compensated
and you can search the centre of the object with
extremely slow movements of the search head
and without any loss of detection sensitivity.
If you stop pressing the PINPOINT-button the metal
detectors continues in its standard dynamic mode.
NOTE:
NOTE:
NOTE:
After you have detected the exact position of the metal
object, lift off the search head from the metal object and
then stop pressing the PINPOINT-button.
During pinpointing the soil compensation of the metal
detector is not automatically readjusted. Therefore, use the
pinpointing function only if necessary and only for a short
time. If you use the pinpointing function for a longer time, a
continuous audio signal might be produced. Clear the
continuous audio signal by pressing button "C".
Pinpointing is not advantageous in heavily mineralized
and/or very uneven ground.
