3.5 Operational Readiness, Sensitivity Test Piece

The proper function of the metal detector can be tested by means of the
delivered test piece as follows:
1. Before starting the test procedure, make sure that all alarm modes (three)
are active (audio alarm, LED-display, vibration).
2. Select the desired soil program (set the mode selector to position "normal"
or „mineral") and wait until battery check has been finished.
3. Place the metal detector on an area free of metals.
a. No audio signal should be audible
b. No LEDs should be illuminated
c. No vibration alarm should be perceptible.
4. Move the test piece vertically (string at the top) from the top (starting from
the telescopic pole in approx. 0.5 meter distance to the search head)
towards the search head until the test piece is positioned on the center of
the search head. (The operator's hand must be free of metal parts; i.e. no
watches, no rings, etc.).
