Shakespeare Electronic Galaxy Style 5390 Installation Instructions

Before installing, please study the diagram and check parts supplied
against those listed.

IMPORTANT! Please read all instructions before installing.

The Style 5390 is a Galaxy
17' 6" (5.3 m) overall length, with conductors running the full length
of the antenna. Insulating properties in this antenna will support power
up to 1 kw.
Tools required: Adjustable Wrench.

Installation Instructions

Choose a mounting location as free as possible from obstructions
and as far as possible from other antennas and strong sources of RF.
The recommended mount is Shakespeare's Style 409-R or 410-R
Mounting Kit (each sold separately), for deck or bulkhead mounting.
1. Inspect the O-ring to be sure it is seated in the bottom groove of the
base section's upper ferrule.
2. Thread the tip section onto the base section's upper ferrule and
tighten securely. When properly installed, the ferrule on the tip
section should completely cover the threaded portion of the base
section ferrule.
3. Use a Shakespeare Style 409-R or 410-R Mounting Kit (each sold
separately) to install the antenna on your boat. Install the mounting
kit's stand-off bracket at least 3 to 5 feet above the antenna's
base where possible. Follow the directions included with the mount
you choose.
4. Route the cable to your SSB Antenna tuner, keeping it as far as
possible from other electrical equipment and cables. Follow the
radio manufacturer's instructions for connecting the antenna's cable
to your SSB radio system.
To clean the antenna, use mild dishwashing liquid (one that is not
harsh to the hands and without ammonia) in lukewarm water.
WARNING: Do not let paint solvents, cleaning solvents, or adhesive
caulking come in contact with the antenna. Chemicals in these materials
might destroy the finish.
WARNING: Installation of this product near
power lines is dangerous! Check for overhead
wires before installing.
