13 For added protection of the TV set during a lightning storm or when the TV set is to be left
unattended for an extended period of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect
the antenna. This will prevent damage to product due to lightning storms or power line
surges.
14 A TV set and cart combination should be moved with
care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven sur-
faces may cause the TV set and cart combination to
overturn.
SERVICE
15 Unplug this TV set from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualifie d servic e p er-
sonnel und er the following conditions:
A. When the power cord or plug is d ama g e d or fraye d.
B. If liquid has b e en spille d into the TV set.
C . If the TV set has b e en expose d to rain or water.
D. If the TV set does not op erate normally by following the op erating instructions.
A djust only those controls that are covere d in the op erating instructions as
improp er a djustment of other controls may result in d ama g e and will often re quire
extensive work by a qualifie d te chnician to restore the TV set to normal op eration.
E. If the TV set has b e en drop p e d or d ama g e d in any way.
F. When the TV set exhibits a distinct chang e in p erformanc e — this indic ates a
ne e d for servic e.
16 Do not attempt to servic e this TV set yourself as op ening or removing covers may
expose you to d ang erous volta g e or other ha z ards. Refer all servicing to qualifie d
servic e p ersonnel.
17 When re pla c ement p arts are re quire d, have the servic e te chnician verify in writing
that the re pla c ement p arts he uses have the same safety chara cteristics as the orig-
inal p arts. Use of manufa cturer's sp e cifie d re pla c ement p arts c an prevent fire,
shock, or other ha z ards.
18 Upon completion of any service or repairs to this TV set, please ask the service techni-
cian to perform the safety check described in the manufacturer's service literature.
19 When a TV set reaches the end of its useful life, improper disposal could result in a pic-
ture tube implosion. Ask a qualified service technician to dispose of the TV set.

40 of the N E C that provid es guid elines for prop er grounding and, in p articular, sp e c-
ifies that the c a ble ground shall b e conne cte d to the grounding system of the build-
ing, as close to the point of c a ble entry as pra ctic al.
