Quick Start Part Two:
Transducer Setup
5. Prepare Transducers
Retrieve appropriate transducers from case based on Sensor
Size entry in [4]. Make sure serial numbers match, ending in A
and B:
Unscrew thumb screws from spacer bar and use to space
sensors based on Spacing Offset from [4]. Sensor BNC cable
ports should face away from each other:
Apply a generous line of ultrasonic coupling compound to the
bottom of each transducer:

6. Prepare Pipe
Pipe must be clean and free of rust, loose paint, and other
contaminants. Use supplied abrasive sponge to clean surface
prior to installation. Note that severely rusted pipes may
need to be cleaned with a powered abrasive tool. Cast iron
pipe may need surface smoothed out.
7. Mount Transducers and Cables
Insert supplied clamps through transducer mounting slots
and around pipe. Tighten using a 5/16" hex driver, ensuring
that transducer mounting frame is parallel to pipe and
transducers are square:
Install supplied 20' cables onto transducers. BNC connectors
use a collar that must be pressed on and rotated to secure.
Cables are marked UP and DN for upstream and downstream
sensors:
Insert transducer cable connector into FLOW SENSOR port on
rear of FUP1010. Connector is polarized and will only fit one
way. As with BNC cables, collar rotates to secure:
7. Complete Installation
On FUP1010 install menu from [4], use DOWN ARROW to
select Install Complete. Press RIGHT ARROW to pop up menu
and press DOWN ARROW to select INSTALL. Press ENTER.
System will run through makeup routine for several minutes.
When meter provides sonic velocity, press MENU. Press LEFT
ARROW to return to flow screen.
