Em.Ht: Emergency Heat output is controlled as
stage 1 heat. Cooling system is off, and
compressor is de-energized. Em.Ht and
are displayed when the thermostat is
calling for emergency heat.

LED Indicators

There are two LED indicators on the top right of the
thermostat. See Fig. 13.
• The check (red) LED lights when 24 volts are applied
to the L terminal on the W8635B EIM or W8835. This
indicates a problem with the heat pump equipment.
Action for Homeowner: Switch to emergency heat
and call for assistance.
• The filter (green) LED lights when the filter timer has
expired.
Action for Homeowner: Replace the furnace filter
or clean the electronic air cleaner cells. Press and
hold the Filter key to reset the counter and turn off
the LED.

Temperature Settings

To program the time and temperature settings:
1. Refer to Table 3 for the default program time and
temperature settings.
2. If the daytime energy savings period is not used,
press Leave or Return (period) until the time and
temperature is blank.
3. See Owner's Guide, 69-1332, for complete
instructions on changing the program.

Filter Indication

This thermostat can track total fan and system run time.
This feature can be used to tell the homeowner when to
replace the furnace filter or clean the electronic air
cleaner cells:
1. Select the number of days for the filter timer to
count down from: 0, 15, 30, 60 or 120 days. (One
day represents 24 hours of continuous fan/system
run time.)
2. To activate this feature, select a value other
than 0.
3. See Owner's Guide, 69-1332, for more detailed
information.

Communication Code Numbers

Communication codes 1-3 provide equipment and com-
munication status after installation. Communication
codes 4-6 can be used during initial system zoning
installation when more than one thermostat is con-
nected. See Table 4.
