10.3 VHF Radio troubleshooting

Problems with your VHF radio and their possible causes and solutions are described below:
DSC functions are not available / working
Possible Causes
MMSI number not programmed.
Radio is set to ATIS or Marcom-C mode.
Sensitivity set to Local.
Passive speaker no alarm audio
Possible Causes
Passive speaker connected to second station connector.
Troubleshooting
Possible Solutions
Programme your MMSI number.
Use of DSC is not permitted when in ATIS or Marcom-C mode. You will be unable to make DSC distress
and other types of digital selective call.
If you are not in an ATIS region switch off ATIS mode: Menu > Set-up > ATIS set-up > ATIS.
With the sensitivity set to Local your reception will be limited
Set Sensitivity to Distant: Menu > Set-up > Sensitivity.
Possible Solutions
Alarm audio is not available on passive speakers connected to the second station connector. Alarm
audio should still be heard via the second station handset.
