    The REN is useful in determining the number of devices you may connect to your telephone line and still have all of these devices ring when your telephone number is called. In most (but not all) areas, the sum of the RENs of all devices connected to one line should not exceed 5.

    PULSE for rotary service. If you don't know which type of service you have, check with the phone company. 4. Plug the telephone line cord into the PHONE LINE jack on the back of the base. Plug the other end into a modular wall jack.

    OWERING “N ” B ORRY This clock phone is equipped with a memory holding system that can be powered with a customer-installed 9-volt alkaline battery (not included). When power is interrupted, or AC line cord is unplugged, the battery will power the clock to keep track of time and alarm settings programmed into memory.
  • Page 7 NOTE: Alkaline (NEDA 1604A) batteries are recommended. Carbon-zinc (NEDA 1604) batteries may be used but memory holding time will be substantially reduced. Memory holding time for a fresh alkaline battery is approximately 8 hours (if Wake System is not activated), which should take care of short, nuisance-type AC power failures.

    ETUP ETTING THE IME AND NOTE: The telephone company sends the time and date with the Caller ID information. The unit automatically sets the time and date when the first call is received (if it has not already been set).

    ETTING THE ISPLAY This setting allows you to adjust the display contrast for easier viewing. 1. Press and release the SET button until SET CONTRAST is displayed. 2. Use the REVIEW buttons to select the desired setting (1-5). 3. When finished, press SET to confirm. ETTING 1.

    SING THE NOOZE After the wake mode has activated, you can silence it for another 9 minutes by pressing the SNOOZE button. You can use the SNOOZE feature repeatedly. The alarm will remain on for 30 minutes if SNOOZE is not pressed. DJUSTING THE 1.

    EMPORARY Use the temporary tone feature if you have pulse (rotary) service, and want to access custom calling services that require touch-tone dialing, such as getting information from a local bank or credit card company. 1. Dial the number for the custom calling service. 2.

    The unit can store up to 99 calls for later review. VERY IMPORTANT: The Caller ID feature of this product requires a subscription to Caller ID service from your telephone company. UMMARY CREEN The summary screen shows the current time, current date and number of new calls to be reviewed.

    ECEIVING AND This unit receives and displays information transmitted by your local phone company. This information can include the phone number, date, and time; or the name, phone number, date, and time. The unit can store up to 99 calls for later review. When the memory is full, a new call automatically replaces the oldest call in memory.

UNKNOWN The incoming call does not have Caller ID service or their service area is CALL not linked to yours. If UNKNOWN CALL appears along with a calling number, the name information for that number was not available.

    • ERROR appears in the display if the unit detects anything other than valid Caller ID information during the silent period after the first ring. This message indicates either the presence of noise on the line, or that an invalid message has been sent from the telephone company.
