Connect to your HUAWEI CarFi 4G
Using your compatible portable Wi-Fi device search for the HUAWEI CarFi 4G hotspot (SSID).
Select it and enter the default Wi-Fi key provided.
Note:
The default SSID and the Wi-Fi key are printed on the HUAWEI CarFi 4G, as shown in the
illustration below.
If you have changed the default Wi-Fi key enter the new one to connect.
You are now connected to the Internet via the HUAWEI CarFi 4G..
If no devices are connected to your Huawei CarFi within 30 minutes, it will disable its
internet network.
Manage your HUAWEI CarFi 4G
Use the HUAWEI HiLink APP to change the HUAWEI CarFi 4G hotspot name (SSID) and Wi-Fi
key as well as read the SMS messages sent to your device mobile number.
To change the SSID and Wi-Fi key
1. Make sure you are connected to the HUAWEI CarFi 4G.
2. Open the HUAWEI HiLink APP, go to Settings and select My Wi-Fi.
3. Change the hotspot name (SSID) and Wi-Fi key as needed.
Note:
The App can be downloaded from the iTunes App store and from the Google Play store.
Tips:
1. Always make sure your HUAWEI CarFi 4G is used in an environment with good ventilation.
2. If your HUAWEI CarFi 4G is not working properly, try:
Restarting the HUAWEI CarFi 4G.
Restoring the device to factory settings.
3. Overheat protection: If the HUAWEI CarFi 4G temperature exceeds its ideal operating
temperature range, its Wi-Fi function or external charging function will be disabled. So
always make sure your device is used within the acceptable temperature range.
4. Do not use the HUAWEI CarFi 4G in a cigarette lighter socket with a voltage higher than
12V or it may be permanently damaged.
5. Some vehicles will temporarily turn off the cigarette lighter power when starting. If this
occurs your HUAWEI CarFi 4G will turn off as well. To power it back on, press the power
button.
